I had new springs installed for my garage door. The installer was very courteous and explained about all of the work that was done. He also gave me quotes on what it would cost if I would want to replace the garage door and garage door opener. The spring was not broken but I chose to have it replaced because there was only one spring and the door was installed in 1999.

Very quick response to my early morning call and the technician was on scene within one hour. The main spring on the garage door was broken and the side cables had come off the rollers. The technician surveyed the job and had the repair completed within one hour. Prompt, courteous, and professional service. Very good.

My garage door was not operating properly. I had to push the open and close buttons on the opener before the technician arrived. After about twenty minutes of looking around and messing with the opener, it was totally inoperable. It went from bad to worse. Before the technician meddled with the opener I could at least open and close the door via the opener. After he left it was totally useless and I had to open and close the door manually. Then he gave me some quotes for a new door starting at around $800.00. (I found one for $200.00) He then had the nerve to ask for a tip. After ruining my garage door operator. Horrible experience!!!

Our door broke rather spectacularly a few days ago--right before a vacation--and I had opted to just deal with the issue when I got home. So, Monday morning rolls around and I figure I'll call and schedule something for tomorrow or the next day. On the phone I'm told they can have someone out between 10am and noon (it was like 9:15) so I stayed home. Typically I've found that a range of time almost always means someone will be here toward the tail end. Not so in this case. Our technician, Cameron, got here pretty close to 10am, gave me a quick rundown of the issues, was extremely polite, and given that I am writing this here at 11am can stay that the work was completed very quickly. Two new springs, pulley cables replaced, door aligned, everything checked, etc. So, quick. Had I known it was such a quick process I would have just called the night my door actually broke. They probably could have had it fixed faster than it took to get friends over to open the door by hand! Haha. Anyway, very pleased. ProTip™: If you have a double garage door and it only has a single spring, you might wanna have that looked at. This is likely what ate my old garage door opener.

Yesterday, I insulated my garage door with Owens Corning R-8 Garage Door Insulation Kit. My weekend DIY project. This morning at 6:30 a.m., I saw on Channel 3 KSNV, a commercial for Precision Door Service. "Call today and receive a free service call with repair." I called them and setup a same-day, 10:00 a.m., appointment for them to 'check the balance' of my garage door since the insulation made my garage door a little more heavier. Jared C., a certified technician, called me prior to say he was on the way to my house. Jared came and inspected by garage door. He told me everything about my garage door- the good and the bad - and checked the balance of my door. My garage door was still balanced. No charge! Jared was clean, eager, professional, honest and treated us like his own family. There is a reason why some garage doors last 10 years and others last 20 years. Always get an inspection. How often should you get your garage door inspected? If you’re fortunate enough to have private parking on your property and a garage to protect your vehicles from damage, weather, and theft, then you should consider it and its garage door as a valuable investment. Many of us do not think about our garage doors until they break or malfunction, and by then it is much too late to take care of any preventative maintenance that might have prevented the problems in the first place. Environment, weather, and usage can all have negative effects on the ways garage doors function, so how often you should have them inspected depends mostly on how these factors impact their daily usage. The more the door is used, the more frequently it should be inspected, from anywhere to every six months to a year for most doors that see daily use. Doors that run automatically with the use of a sensor should be especially cared for, since they are more prone to damage due to sticking or from coming off their tracks.
