We have used Precision for years and after a few garage door spring replacements felt comfortable turning to them again to install a new door opening. There was a mix up and poor communication which left me disappointed with the service. I emailed the company to express my experience and within a day a representative phoned me back and arranged to have the install completed. The technician they sent professional, courteous and we really appreciated Precision recognizing the error in communications and going above and beyond to make it right in a timely manner. The Precision technician arrived on Wednesday, gave us an estimate which I agreed to. He came back the next day and did the removal of the old opener (also installed by Precision 6 years ago) and the installation of the new opener in about 2 hours. Hopefully this opener will be less trouble free. It has a 7 year warranty, so I expect it to be trouble free.

Broken spring warranted my call to Precision. Upon calling, the dispatcher gave prices on torsion spring replacement, anywhere between 64-118 dollars. The technician arrive quickly same day. Upon tech inspection, I was told my springs would cost 118 a piece and both would need to be replaced. Even though one was broke, his analogy was that it was like replacing tires on a car (terrible and inaccurate) and that both would need to be replaced. I was also told the drums, torsion cables, bearings and rollers would need replacement as well. I was shown one torsion cable on the left side that was starting to separate and in overall good condition minus the small blemish. After quoting me a grand total of over 750 dollars, I opted for just the springs and torsion cables which came to 552.12. A sucker is born every minute and I was one of them. Do your research people, a pair of torsion cables of the same quality is ~20 at Home Depot and a simple YouTube video can provide you with the instructions on replacement in less than 30 minutes. The tech was at my residence for less than 1 hour and 15 minutes. I was not only charged a 20 dollar gas fee but also a 7% “shop fee” after being told the service charge was free. To top it all off, my garage door is in worse shape than before. Doesn’t close right and is noisier than before. Needless to say, I’m not happy.

Zackery was awesome! I called at 8am and received a call back at 8:15 with a 30 minute timeframe of arriving. Zackery, diagnosed the issue and was very upfront with what was needed. Unfortunately, the spring was over 20 years old and back then manufactured on site, something that is not common anymore. Therefore two springs were need to accommodate the weight of the door. Zackery was very timely and offered to clean up after the installation, he tested the door several time and adjusted the raise of the door for me. I am extremely pleased and will definitely call Precision Garage Doors should I ever need them again.
